Why is a man unable to pass a sex linked gene to his son ?
It is only the X-chromosome on which a sex linked gene is present.
- Genotype of males is XY and that of females is XX.
- During gamete formation only sperms with X-chromosomes will have the genes. Now, the son with genotype XY will get X - chromosome from mother and Y from father.
Hence a man is unable to pass a sex linked gene to his son.

Why did Mendel choose garden pea plants for his studies ?
